Am I a bad mother?

I'm always on the lookout for cute places to take pictures of my little one. While sitting in the house I had a vision. It was going to be the best picture of all time . . . until it all went wrong.

My mom bought my son an oversized, fuzzy, brown bear. For Halloween, I dressed my son up as a brown bear. Where do bears belong? Outside under a pine tree of course. So, I dressed him in his bear costume, grabbed my camera and set the scene up outside.

Mr. B is still working on his sitting skills, but as of lately he can sit for extended periods of time. I settled him on the grass next to the bear and then retreated to the sidewalk to take a picture of him. Unfortunately, he lost his balance and fell forward, scratching his face on the sidewalk. Now given, it wasn't a big scratch, he fell all of three inches, but I felt like I was the worst mother in the world. I was sure child protective services would be knocking on my door. Mr. B was over it in about thirty seconds and quickly resumed his scoot across the floor. I learned my lesson though: either sidewalks should be paved with Jello or I should pay closer attention to what is in his "drop" zone.

Have you ever had a similar photo/sitting mishap?

New Adventures

"What did I do with my time before I had kids?" Several of my new mommy friends have asked this same question. I always knew being a mother would be one of the most difficult and rewarding endeavors, but I think I underestimated the value of a little bit of "mommy" time each day. In order to be a great mom you need to make sure that the woman behind the title is happy and healthy. Thus - mommy's minute was born.

I hope this site will be a great resource for mommies of all ages, both newbies (you can spot these by the huge circles under their eyes and their bookshelves full of parenting books) or seasoned experts (the bags are still there, but the books have been destroyed).

Even if it's just a minute each day, feel free to visit and see what we're up to. Read about my own mommy misadventures or catch up on my favorite must-have baby/child/mommy products. Feel free to drop me a line and share with me your own adventures. Your comments are always welcome.

If you own a mom-based business and you would like for me to review your product/sponsor a give-away feel free to contact me. I am currently accepting PR requests.

That's all for now! I hope to see you again soon!
